Several years ago, Charter came through our town an dug up our front yard to lay cable. No one complained, because the excitement of finally having cable and high-speed internet was worth it. They even put a box in our front yard.
We just recently decided to get their service, and low and behold, they claim that we cannot get service. They apparently laid the cable to serve the trailer park down the street, but will not service our house.
I started contacting them on April 29, and have spoken to 12 different people on 9 different occasions. At first they said that I could get service, so I went out and bought almost $200 in equipment for the high-speed internet, cable modem, etc. Then they said that there were two reports, one saying that I could get service and one saying I couldn't.
So, I finally finished talking to a person who said definitively that no I couldn't get service on June 6, over a month later. No one has bothered to call me during any of this to let me know one way or the other, rather they wait for me to call them. I have asked twice for the person who judges the servicability to call me, only to not get a phone call. I am fed up with this company. If they don't want to give me service, then they need to move the box out of my front yard and pay to to have the yard relandscaped. And, of course, the trailer park down the road has their cable.
This company claimed to be bringing a valuable service to our county, but only wants to take the time to service people they see fit. They are real rip-off artists, because not only are they ripping off me, but most of my entire community.
