I purchased a Sandisk flash drive from Office Depot based on their ad which stated $20 off after rebates— $10 from the manufacturer & $10 from Office Depot. When I mailed in the rebate slips, both called for the original UPS packaging. I sent the original to the manufactuer & an original adhesive bar code from the Sandisk packaging to Office Depot, hoping that they would accept it. They rejected it because it was not the original. I then sent them the following response:
"The Office Depot ad in the circular, & at the store where I purchased it, stated that the Cruzer flash card is $20 off after rebates—$10 from manufacturer & $10 from Office Depot. Both rebate slips called for the original ups code—I sent the original to the manufacturer and included what I thought was the Office Depot sticker ups (adhesive sticker ups coded). I feel that advertising $20 off & requiring two "original ups codes" makes this impossible, & therefore is false advertising on your part. I will never shop at Office Depot again!!!"
