Patriot Moving is perhaps the worst business I've ever dealt with.
We moved from Buffalo, NY to Dallas, TX and it was a nightmare from beginning to end. Just to recap some of the general things they did:
- Charged us way more than they promised, and encompassed the little charges as things that seem logical and legal, like an extra $300 to deliver the stuff on a day that they could get paid.
-Only took cash or POSTAL money orders for the delivery. First off, they couldn't give me a price to get a Money Order and second, what schmuck carries $3000 on their person at any given time? They wanted to deliver on a Sunday.in Texas, all the banks and Post Offices are closed and ATM's won't let you take more than $500 per day. That part just seemed like a total scam.
-They don't believe in the general concept of the customer is always right. When I call asking why I was charged extra for something, I expect a straight answer and maybe an "I'm sorry" if I was wrong for accusing me of overcharging. I do not take kindly to someone telling me we can charge you what we want, f—k you and then hang the phone up on me.
-They lost two sentimental items of ours. We would have taken them in the car with us, but having to take all of the clothes with us that should have gone in our "four free wardrobe boxes" that were used to pack things we didn't ask them to pack, made us a little strapped for space in a 1996 Saturn SL2. Thank God the cats were already in Dallas.
- They have no respect for the condition of their customers. After the movers in Buffalo frazzled my pregnant wife after she'd spent her morning in Labor and Delivery with some complications that arose from her having the flu, they asked her to order them pizza.
I will not rest until the head of Patriot Moving is cut off, never again to emerge. I saw the number of company names they've been under. And in my experience, businesses that change their names more than they switch ownership have something to hide. If you look up Patriot's Dunn&Bradstreet report, you'll see a blank screen... They don't have one.
Rule number 2: a company without a Dunn and Bradstreet Report is hiding something.
I urge everyone that wants to move... Do not move with Patriot or any other company it decides to change its name to. Do not move with any company that does business with Pony X-Press.
Put these people out of business.
