After sending Nationwide Van Lines an extensive list of household items to be moved (we sent updated lists as our packing progressed until the day before the move, May 22) we were given a total estimate of $3819.00. When the movers came, we made them go around the premises to make sure the estimate was right. They confirmed it was about right. When all our things were packed in the truck they upped the price to $8896.00; our belongings hostage. They delivered half of our belongings on May 30th (there was significant damage) in a Rent a Truck. We only got the rest on June the 17th, and many items missing, and then again there were items that didn't belong to us (which we gave back to them (again our belongings were delivered in a rent a truck). They would not unload until we went to the bank and were able to give them a cashier's check., thus keeping our belongings hostage once again. Our initial quote, $3819.00 compared to $8896.00 is more than twice its original price for a very unprofessional job!
