I bought an 8,000BTU GE air conditioner which worked for three months, then started icing up. Packed it up and returned it, as it had a one-year warranty.By the time I got it back it was winter.installed it at the beginning of summer; it worked another couple of months and quit cooling. The warranty was only good for one year from original purchase, so I took it to a local repairman. Paid $43.30 to have him check it. He says it has a small Freon leak - so small he can't pinpoint it and it is too close to something else so it would cost more to fix it than it's worth. So basically, I paid about $300 for a PIECE OF JUNK!
