My parents are 83 and 86 and have had warranties with GE for many years.in February their Convection Microwave went out and couldn't be fixed. The rep told my mom they could not find someone to install the new unit they sent to her and she had a credt of $679 and $100 installatin and should go buy one and have it installed by the company (in this case Sears) she bought it from.
She did this and when she called to ask when they would be picking up the one they delviered to her, they told her she had a $150 restock fee. They also told her the agent was wrong and they would not honor her purchase and installation! They are on a fixed income witn $1000 per month in prescriptions alone! Agents said they would call my mom and I back but never did. I am about to give up. However, I will keep trying. My parents are not out $141 fee they charged for the unit they delivered which cannot be used. She paid $679 for a new unit. She paid over $100 installation. She also paid $132 extended warranty for the unit she cannot use - for a total of $1,052 under a warranty - with no warranty coverage for the $132 paid every year for over the last 11 years!
