6/23 I purchased a Queen TempurPedic (R) 10" Deluxe Memory Foam Mattress set, Item #4309521972. I purchased it advertising it thru eBay "Brand New" FREE SHIP w/BUY IT NOW! 2 pc. Set for $1,785.00 buy now! And the shipping is included! 20 yr. Warranty.
After I paid $1,785.00 thru PayPal immediately with BUY IT NOW, then I contacted him and asked if he sold the the TempurPedic Celebirty Queen and he said he did. I paid him over the phone with my Visa Debit Card I use with my Bank $615.00 extra.
Once I recieved the TempurPedic Celebirty Queen I found it DAMAGED on one corner (like it was melted on that corner). I called him "Brad Merriman, District Sales Manager"; he offered me $100.00 back, or I could remove the 3 inch extra padding and send it back to him for 3 inch padding replacement. I explained I did not pay for it that way, it had a 20 YR. Warranty that I was affraid that the foam had gone through a heat and that the foam would break down BEFORE my 20 YRS. Was up. So he agreed to send another complete top Celebrity mattress.
THEN... After making the Queen TempurPedic Celebirty up I noticed it was actually to HEAVY to lift up the corners to make up. I was scared I would hurt my back even at 51 years of age now, I could not even think of making it up for 20 years. I then contacted him a couple of days later and asked; since he was sending me another complete mattress, would he please send the ORIGINAL Queen TempurPedic Mattress I had purchased on eBay since it was to difficulty for me to lift the corners and he said he would.
Well I did recieve the Tempurpedic 10 inch Deluxe as agreed. I had my brother to help box up the Queen Tempurpedic Celebirty in the Original box, ship back to him when the Deluxe was delivered. This all transpired the same time 8/10. When one mattress was dropped off, the other was picked up by Averitt Express Trucking Company.
I emailed him regards to a refund, and he emailed me back..."HE WAS WAITING FOR THE SHIPPING BILLS, PLUS LABOR BOTH WAYS FOR THE DELIVERY", then he would subtract from the selling price.
I kept waiting, waiting, waiting to hear from him for a refund which was a $615.00 difference so I put a NEGATIVE feedback on eBay (you only have 90 days to leave feedback on eBay). Well he got very upset with me, after I gave him Negative feedback. He emailed me and said if I would remove and informed me on how to remove the NEGATIVE feedback; THEN, he would see about working "something" out with me on a refund. Well I did not even answer him regarding his email on my Negative feedback. I have had it with him and his position at Chattanooga Mattress. Needless to say I am still waiting for a $615.00 difference.
I feel that since the Celebirty Queen was DAMAGED it sould not be my responsibility to ship the mattress back, and pay for the other Deluxe to be shipped for a replacement. It had a 20 year Warranty. An I purchased it BUY NOW on eBay and the FREE SHIPPING. It was not my fault for the mattress being damaged. And NOW he is trying to charge me for the shipping PLUS labor.!?!?! WHAT A RIP OFF!!!
I have now reported Chattanooga Mattress to the Better Business Bureau, since they are a Member.
