Zales Jewelers
Ripoff, lost jewelry

Two months ago, to this day, I took my wedding ring in to have one of the jewelers look at it. One of the prongs looked a little different to me. Talking with the Jeweler she said that I needed one of the prongs fixed and they would send it off, I would have my ring back in two days.

A little leary at first I asked her exactly how it worked and if they've ever lost any rings before by doing this. She told me they've dealt with the same Jeweler for 20 years and have not lost a ring. Because Zales is such a huge diamond institution, I trusted my ring with them.

Two days later I went back in to get my ring, they looked and could not find it, the woman than told me that the jeweler must have not brought it back and to call tomorrow. The next day I called around noon and after getting the run around, they told me they would call me back after talking to the jeweler.

They did finally call me back after two hours and asked if I had the receipt with the information on it. After talking to them, and again getting the run around, they told me they would have to call their other jeweler they sometimes dealt with, mind you they told me earlier they only had one.

After another few hours I called my husband and told them the run around they had been giving me. He called and the manager of the store told him, that as of now they have no clue where my ring was, we had one of two options, come in and get another ring at equal value or they would reimburse my what we paid for it. Well here's where it gets a little sticky, the center diamond to my ring was my mother's, she had given it to my husband and he placed it in a custom ring for me.

We told them how unhappy we were that this is happening and they were very unsympathetic. The manager told me if we went with the money then it could take weeks maybe months to get it to us, she suggested we just come in and get another ring. Well how do you make up for a wedding ring, something that is very sentimental to you. How do you pick out another ring thats going to replace something like this.

I told them I wanted to talk to someone in their corporate office, after talking to the man in corporate office and telling him exactly what it would cost to make a replica of my ring, he told me he was unable to give that money to me. I have to get a ring in their store. Do you honestly think I want a ring from a store that lost mine? Come on, lets get real here!

To this day we're still in a lawsuit with these people and they actually told my lawyer, since they do not feel that I have had any pain or suffering they will not budge on giving me the money to make my ring. Even making a new ring doesn't give me the peace of mind, that it was my mother's diamond past down to me.

I will never deal with Zales again, and would highly recommend no one does either. This has been very painful and heart wrenching, all I want is my ring back! I could go on and on, but really what more do I have to say. I took my beautiful, meaningful wedding ring in, they lost it in two days (If they even really lost it), and it's already been two months and they have done nothing to try to fix what they have done. If you ask me they shouldn't be able to do business..
