FutureRest, Ruth Kelso, Mike Dowing, Mr. Lee & Craig Ripoff credit card fraud

In September (9/1/03 to be exact... My eldest son's birthday), we ordered a dinette set from FutureRest at the Neshaminy Mall. The set was promised for delivery two weeks after the order.

Having just had a baby, the delivery date came and went and we forgot about it until early October, when I made my first of many phone calls to the store associate who sold me the item as well as to the store manager.

They gave me excuse after excuse as to why the set was not delivered and by November, I was completely frustrated and told them to cancel the order and refund my money. I was told it was no problem, but my refund never came.

I contacted my CC company (Bank of America) to report fraud, who in turn contacted Ruth Kelso, Office Manager, of FutureRest. Ruth replied to the CC company via a letter and stated that when we ordered the set, we were told that is was on backorder and would take weeks to be delivered (not true... We were actually told by Craig that it was in stock and could be delivered within 2 weeks).

She went on to say that when the order finally came in, she called to schedule delivery and found that we no longer wanted the set. She told them that she told us that we were not entitled to a refund since we signed an "ALL SALES FINAL" policy and that she attempted to schedule a date for delivery. She also told them that she sent us a letter to the same. We never heard of this woman prior to contacting the CC company.

She was not at the store when we purchased the item, we never spoke with her directly and we never received an correspondence from her. This woman outright lied to the CC Company!

After months of working with our CC company and getting no where (they were completely useless), we decided to take further action.

In August of we contacted the Office of the Attorney General. Shortly thereafter (September 3rd to be exact... One year later), we received a telephone call from Mike Dowling of FutureRest asking us to return to the store for a refund.

Once the credit was applied to our CC, we closed our account with Bank of America and will never, ever do business with either company again!!! Buyer Beware!
