On August 29 I ordered a dining room table with 4 chairs. Estimated delivery was 8 to 10 weeks.in Oct. I called to get the status and was told delivery would be in the 1st or 2nd week of November.
Nov. 15, I called to check on the status. I was told the maufacturer ran out of the fabric for the chairs and it would be another 2 weeks.
2 weeks later, I called again the order was not ready and the store manager, Patrick could give no explanation. He stated I needed to wait until Jan. 2004 for delivery or cancel my order. I decided to cancel the order and was told by Patrick to come by the store for my refund.
Dec. 12, I went to the store to get my refund and Patrick handed me a copy of an attorney's business card. When I asked Patrick for his full name so I can file a complaint, he would not give me his last name. He was very rude and unprofessional. Patrick told me I had to contact the attorney to get my refund.
That same day I contacted the attorney Ken Reynolds of Pryor & Mandelup, L.L.P. Mr. Reynolds advised me that Island Dinette filed Chapter 11 and that I would have to wait for the court settlement before I could get my refund.
The week of Jan. 19 I left a message with the attorney and got no call back. The week of Feb. 1st I left another message with the attorney and still no call back.
I then called back Feb. 19 and spoke to the attorney's secretary who said he would get back to me on the status of the company.
The next day I called again, Feb. 20 and the secretary told me that nothing has been settled in court as of yet and it will take time. Once the settlement is done then i would have to file proof of claim with the court to get a refund.
As of this date, Feb. 20 I have not received any refunds. I am extremely angry by this lack of service and disregard for customer satisfaction. I can't believe that I also found other complaints against this company. I have filed complaints with the BBB and General Attorney's office and will be approaching Shame on You from Channel 2.
I would also like to inform you that Island Dinette still has it's doors open and customers coming in for usiness. I would appreciate all the help and support. Thank you.
