J Hood Barbara Hood
Jae Hood Joshua Hood Barbara Hood J Hood & Barbara Hood scamming local and underground hip hop & rap artists mix tape SCAM

I'm writing this complaint for a close family member, someone who has been like a father to me my whole life, and it really upsets me to see this happen to a good person like him. He is a rapper/hip-hop artist with a unique style of music that gives a positive message about real life issues, he has done countless charity and fund-raising events, helped out many other artists, and become pretty well recognized name out here on the scene in Phoenix.

I want this to serve as a warning to all local or underground hip-hop and rap artists. I know some of you out there are very talented people that try so hard to get your name recognized and your music heard. I know a lot of you got families and children to support, and whatever spare money you get, some of you use that to help further your career. There are some unscrupulous people out there always trying to make a buck off you struggling artists. I don't want to see the same thing happen to you.

A rapper named J-Hood (Jae-Hood, real name Joshua Hood, a former known in the rap industry with D Block or The LOX D Block Records) is going around to local & underground artists and telling them he can get your song on a mix tape that will go nationwide. Most people don't think twice about this because at one point he was well-known, and a lot of artists out there might see this as a chance to get their music out to a larger audience. After wiring $300 (some other people got ripped off for $250) to his wife Barbara Hood (who is appearantly in on the scam too) you will never hear from him again. I still have the paper from the bank to prove the wire transfer was done, but J Hood doesnt answer calls or messages. Since he has been kicked off D Block records he is now resorting to ripping off underground rap artists with false promises of doing songs with them or getting their music on a mix tape. From doing some searching online, I have found at least 5 others this has happened to and I'm sure he will continue to do it.

I urge any of you artists out there, underground or signed, to not work with this thief or send him any money. Whatever he tells you is probably a lie, since he hasnt had any success himself since being kicked out of D Block. He is giving the entire industry a bad name, preying on people who are just trying to get their message out to the world in their music. No doubt he knew at some point what its like to be in their position which makes it even more of a scum bag move!
