Many 2004 Polaris Virage and Gensis watercraft have warped hoods. The warp occurs in the front of the hood where the hinge is attached to the hood. The basic problem is that the hinge is stronger than the hood and when the watercraft sets in the sun the hood in too weak to retain it shape. The problem was only compounded by the Black and Silver covers that Polaris sold for several years. The black material increased the intensity of the sun.
Once the hood warps water pours in through the gap in the front of the watercraft. The gap can be identified by standing to the side of the watercraft near the front and see if you can see light coming from under the seal of the font of the hood.
Polaris did redesign the hood but the hoods on many units were never changed.
