My husband and I sent away for tickets to the price is right. When they came, they warned us to get there early because they "slightly" overbook to ensure a full audience. We were supposed to be there at 8am, we arived at 5am. (We had allowed extra time to make sure we didn't get lost). That is when we found out that by "slightly" overbooking they had handed out over 1600 tickets for a taping that held less than 300 people. The people who had gotten in for a monday booking had been camped out in line since friday morning.
We drove over 500 miles to see the show. There were people in line with us who had driven thousands of miles. I feel we were misled. We had to hire babysitters, pay gas and hotels thinking we had tickets and as long as we were not late we would see the show. This was a disgrace. When we mentioned to the employee that this was unfair, his reply was "nobody told you to come down here, nobody told you to watch the show, if your dumb enough to do it, we can't help you." Then he said he had tickets for the next day and the day after, if we keep trying, we might make it in.
This is a warning to those of you who want to attend this show. Be prepared to sleep with the drunks and hookers, as it is not a good neighborhood. Be prepared to live in line for a few days, and remember, the ticket is not worth the money it took to print it.
