Non working GE Wall Unit Oven (3 years old) - Coonection wall oven GE Profile PT958

Rip Off Sears Home Services

July 17
I called Sears Home Services to fix a GE Convection Oven Wall on June 28. The technician that was sent to my house arrived with a bad attitude. He barely checked the oven and told me that I needed to replace the door%u2019s front panel and the interior corresponding control—for a total price of $628.94 minus a Sears%u2019s promotional discount. The final total amount due was $570.44.
I tried in vain to tell him that the electronic control board was replaced by his company back on October 03 but he did not want to hear about it, saying that the order was too old and not on his computer. I was also told by him that it was not worth it to fix the oven because for that kind of money I could buy a new one. I reminded him that my present oven was a GE Profile PT958 and was still priced at $3,200.00.
The technician ordered the parts and charged my credit card for the agreed amount of $570.44. The parts arrived on June 05. A second technician came on July 06 and after 4 hours could not fix the oven. He told me that they have to reorder the electronic control board again because it was defective and he will install the Control Panel with Touchpad - Stainless/Black (Part Number PS754267) and that it%u2019s possible I need to call an electrician to check the electrical panel for defects because the local utility%u2019s voltage quite frequently varies erratically.
On July 16 the original technician came to my house asking if the new parts had arrived. I showed him the new package and he said he ordered two parts for this oven. I tried to explain to him that the second technician said that he only needed to replace the electronic control board. He became very upset and said that the company had send a front desk person that did not know how to do the job. He tried to work on the oven but was unable to make it function.
He told me that he needed to re-order the electronic control board again. I told him that the only thing that he needed to do was to put the old electronic control board back in with the new touch pad control panel so that the oven will function until they can get their act together. I cannot be without an oven for another 10 days.By then the white kitchen tiles were covered with black skid marks from the technician%u2019s cheap black rubber-soled shoes. Not only did he not offer to clean his mess, he demanded that I pay him an additional $48.00 dollars. I refused.
He angrily told me that he needed to talk to the English-speaking man of the house. I told him that his own English wasn%u2019t all that great and that there is no man of the house. After more heated words, I told him to leave my house immediately.
My oven is not fixed. I%u2019ve paid for parts I%u2019ve never gotten. I%u2019ve paid the shipping and handling fees on parts I%u2019ve never gotten. And then I%u2019m supposed to pay for an uneducated technician disrespecting me in my own home?
Fat. Chance.
