First of all I have to tell you that the appliance I called them to repair is a wall oven I bought from sears in 2007. Well I had the oven under warranty with sears until it lapsed after I got the new warranty with First American, which I saw on TV. Now thhe door on the wall oven had come apart twice while under sears warranty, i thought then that sears should have replaced the oven, which seem to me the probllem was a manufacturer's defect, you see it was always the same side of theoven, and the problem always started the same way, sticking and then hard to open, then the screws would fall out. So I decided not to keep renewing the warranty with sears, when all they did was keep patching it up. Now I have had First American since last October and the door to the oven came off again in May of this year, they sent a guy over here to repair the oven, the first thing he said was I need a check for $55 before I do anything, so I wrote him the check, he went in the kitchen and looked at the door of the oven and said it couldn't be repaired. He then sais he would call First American and let them know the oven needed to be replaced. After he talked to them, they called me and said the technician said that the door on the oven wasn, t normal wear and tear and that they refuse to repair or replace the oven. I But the guy they sent out wouldn'ttried to explain what happens to the door each time it happens and that sears always fixed it, even if it didn, t last. But the guy they sent out wouldn't even try. But they are still taking money from my checking account each month and just flat out refuse to do anything. I could sure use your help right now. I am a senior citizen and I can't afford a new oven right now. I think both Sears and First American should be held accountable.
