I had granite countertops installed and was ripped off on the pricing. The salesman told us the pricing was based on square footage and included everthing. We were charged almost $100.00 a square foot for 57 square feet which is quite high compared to any other granite place I contacted, but then were charged for a sink, faucet, installation, electric, plumbing, commission etc. This breakdown was never in our contract that we signed. We were told that the $99.00 included installation and the sink, etc. The contract only had a figure at the bottom with no breakdown. Bottom line, the salesman out and out lied to us tellling us that the granite we were getting is the most expensive, when in fact it was the cheapest that the sell and the pricing included absolutely nothing except the granite. Sears would do nothing to rectify the pricing and the deceptive sales practice except to give us a credit of $400.00 from a total of almost $9,000.00. I should have done research first. I could have gotten the same from a granite or kitchen company for half the price.
