Today Feb. 28 around 2:00pm, my husband and I had the worst experience we've EVER had with a store manager.
First of all, we went to Kohl's for two reasons.
#1: There was a really good discount in Rachael Ray pots that I've been wanting to buy.
#2: We went looking for a Dyson Vacuum that my sister in law got it for a really good price yesterday. This is what happen with the vacuum, my husband asked if they had any more of the Dyson DC 25 Animal Vacuums, Amanda (the store manager) said no but that she was going to call other stores to double check (that is when I arrived). So she called other stores and she said unfortunately no other stores had it and she couldn't sale us the display because it didn't have all the accessories. The Dyson DC 25 Animal Vacuum was ringing up to $606 in her hand monitor. My husband then asked her, "Do all Kohl's have the same price." She answered, "Yeah, we do." So then, my husband showed her a copy of my sister in laws receipt where she was able to get the Dyson DC 25 multipurpose vacuum priced matched for the Dyson DC 25 Animal that was not in stock at this location. Amanda, then smiled and said with a different tone of voice, "No, no way I cannot give you a $430 discount for this vacuum, the person who did that to your sister can get terminated, because as you can see in the receipt it is a mark down manually." My husband told her, “Since all stores have the same prices. Why does the Clovis, CA store have the Dyson Dc 25 Animal Vacuum at $180 and you are saying it $606. She responded by saying, “No, ” while moving her head side to side, “It says its 70% off But no, no its $606.” My husband, “you just said 70% off.” Store Manager Amanda, “No, no it’s 606. My device (in her hand) says, $606 look! ” My husband, “well you just said, 70% and the Clovis store had it for $180, we just came from there.” Now it seemed to me Amanda was really angry and she responded, “I don’t know what any other store is doing. We don’t have it for $180 and I will not sale it to you for $180.” Continuing to be very impolite and with a rude tone of voice she said, “I’ll take it to the register so you could see.” We walked behind her. As she scanned it, turns out it was ringing out at $180. Her face looked very upset. She said, “its ringing up to $180, ” My husband told her, “Yeah like I told you. That is how much the Clovis store had it for.” From there she continued saying that her device said $606 and my husband told her yeah and it is $180. That is when I intervened and said, “He is just trying to prove a point here, you kept saying it was $606 not $180 and you were being kind of rude back there when he was telling you. You raised your voice.” Now I was able to notice Amanda was really angry, and moving her head said, “Ok, point proven.” And didn’t say anything else.By then there were a lot of people waiting in line at the cash registers who heard everything. I was so embarrassed and angry to because of the way she had talked to us. Like if we knew nothing. My husband then said, “So will you sale it.” She replied, “Do you want it? ” He answered, “If it works yeah, ill take it for $180.” She made the rudest face ever and got the vacuum and looked for a plug. From a few feet away she said, “Do you want it.” My husband asked me if I wanted it, and even though it was a REALLY GOOD price, I said, “NO.” Bottom line, Amanda the store manager was really unprofessional. She was rude and her tone of voice was unnecessary along with all the face expressions. A simple question of, “Can you price match it.” Went way to far. I am really disappointed with this store manager. And I wanted to speak with the main store manager but she was gone for the day. My husband just called her and left her a message to call him back. Hopefully they she does call him back because we strongly believe a person with that attitude and unprofessionalism should not be working as a Manager at ANY store!
