We recently had carpet installed that we bought at the local Home Depot. The experience at the store was horrible and took over 3 hours. We took them a sample and even the lot number and price.
The men who showed up to install the carpet did not speak English well, and it was hard to communicate with them. They did not install the carpet properly, and now it has loosened at the edges and the seam is showing, so we have to cover it with the couch. The seam in the hallway is also bad. The invoice they had me sign was a fax copy and was not legible. I signed under protest and wrote that it was not legal until I received a legible copy from Home Depot. A couple of weeks later I received a release from Home Depot. It was for a door installation, and they had used white-out to cover another person's signature. I never signed it, so I can only assume they have never sent me a binding agreement.
Poor service, followed by a poor installation, and then no customer service and no follow-up on their agreement.
Moral of this story: never buy carpet at Home Depot! They do not care after they get their money!
