We had a Vinyl floor installed on June 23. The floor had a lifetime guarantee such that if there were any damage to floor, we simply call Empire and they replace the section that is damaged like new. The salesman sold us on that. On Feb 1st, our tenants moved out, and there was damage to about a 3ft section of flooring in the living room. We called Empire and they came out to look and told us that Empire no longer carries the floor. (Vibrance, color Java). We basically asked what is our recourse and was told we could have a reselect. We picked out Armstrong Brilliance vinyl flooring with the understanding that it would be "a wash", which is what we were told by the General Manager. He handled himself very unprofessionally, laughing at us, and he also had dialed our phone by mistake and we heard him say derogatory things about us. Then he told us that we have to pay 1032.00 to replace entire floor. I think that is horrible that we have to pay additional money to replace the floor when Empire discontinued it. What does Lifetime Warranty mean on a product that is discontinued??? Also, the salesman told us Empire discontinued it because there were lots of problems with it. So, we were sold an inferior product to begin with, that Empire no longer backs. I think that is a disgrace and we will no longer every recommend nor buy anything from Empire Carpet. I believe that is deceptive advertising. Shame on you.
