I was short-changed at Ace hardware in Lombard by $5. When I called to tell them, the person on the phone immediately told me in his own words that the cashier was innocent and was had an unpleasant tone of voice. He did say he's count her drawer and call me back in 15 minutes. He did call me back in 10 minutes; however, he was still very impolite, in spite of my kindness. I then was upset and told him I'd call the manager tomorrow. I did; the manager also was very judgmental toward me and I felt threatened when he told me her family works for the police dept., even though I gave him no reason for this. I only told him I was short-changed. He later told me I was barred from the store. I definitely will NOT go back NOR will my family and friends.; however, I don't understand the re-victimization of me. I do also want to say that they were very arrogant even before this issue. On other occasions too. I will bring this up to my board meeting. I live in the condominium accross the street from this Ace. I will encourage my neighbors to shop elsewhere. Schoeder, you are NOT welcome to do business in Lombard!
