Falcon Glen Apartments
Fraudulent Charges

I want to share one of my most recent and most frustrating experiance with Falcon Glen Apartments. My husband and I moved out on April 15th even though our lease wasnt up until May 1st we couldnt stand to live there longer. We spent the next 5 days cleaning making sure everything was spotless because from experiance of living there for a year we know that Falcon Glen is less than trust worthy and honest. When I went it to the office to pay my last utility bill and turn in my keys on the 26th I requested when my last bill would be ready, I advised them that we hadnt been living there since the 15th and we would like our bill as soon as possible. They advised they couldnt inspect anything till our lease was up.

I called t he office yesterday (May 16th) and Jorge informed me that we were getting charged for not putting in our notice to vacate (LIE) luckily I had several calls and messages from Veronica over the past 60 days basically begging us to stay because they had rec'd our notice to vacate. I disputed this with him and suprise after some looking it was found.

Then another shocker, on our bill they are charging us a total of $230 for an "unauthorized pet" and pet stains! WHAT we have never owned a pet. I asked what this pet looked like that they are claiming we had. He informed me Rosie (the manager) inspected our apartment on April 23 (wait thought they couldnt inspect our apartment without informing us and before our lease was up?) and she found evidence of a pet. I asked what this "evidence" was and was informed the "smell" and other evidence. I asked what the other evidence was? They kept skirting that question going back to the smell, they had no pictures or description of any evidence of a pet. No suprise because we didnt have a pet (unless you count all the cockroaches we had to keep killing and spraying for).

I spoke to Rosie who pretty much had no interest in helping us. She told us the same thing Jorge did. Jorge even took us to the apartment (which was spotless) to smell it. A maintenance person was there too. As soon as we walked in the maintenance guy said "oh yeah that smells like pet" haha this is ridiculous because it smells like old musty carpet with a tinge of chemical cleaner just like it did when we moved in. That carpet was stained and gross when we moved in. Luckily I took pictures of the stains before we moved in but unluckily for me I did not think to mention the smell. I dont know if it was the lack of me dealing with crooked apartments or if it is just common knowledge but I thought the move in inspection I only needed to mention physical characteristics I didnt know they could charge me for a smell. To me that is very subjective "evidence".

I asked Rosie how we can dispute this and she informed me (ridiculously) that we could not pay and they could send us to collections and then we could write a letter to collections disputing it. Haha I almost fell off my chair! My husband and I want to by a house this year we have been saving and planning and making sure we dont do anything to hurt our credit. Being sent to collections is not good for your credit. I told her this was not an option. She stared at me blankley as if she didnt care, which I know she didnt.

I hope to help countless other young couples from making the same mistake as us. These people are really nice and helpful until you sign on the dotted line and turn in your move in inspection then they are rude, dishonesty, and unhelpful. Do not rent at falcon glen. They are slum lords. It may look like cheap apartments what you will get is a crummy apartment lots of problems and a big bill at the end. Ours totalled $595 at the end even though our aparment was spotless they charge for painting and carpet cleaning (that was in the part of our lease they didnt give to us until we turned in our keys), and $25 for each little stain (luckily I took good pictures and written descriptions of the stains when we moved in so they had to take those off ending balance was $500, $230 of which was for our invisable pet). I want to pursue legal action against Falcon Glen. I know that $230 dollars seems like a small amount but I hate getting robbed. I feel like I'm helpless and they can lie and cheat and steal from their tenants and we have little recourse
