Traffic camera fines scam

Dear Alderman

I'm not for certain you would be the right person to share my concern with about the red light camera program in Waukegan.

If you are, I think the program is unfair and it does take advantage of those with low incomes and unemployed. As a person who once tried for politics, I seen the greed in how people in power can abuse their office.

I think the mayor doesn't care about how the public thinks. It shows how such a program takes advantage of people that have been elected will use such programs for their benefit.

Regardless of how this program was started or who deserves to be fined, etc, is not the issue. The issue is accountability and integrity. That's why many judges and police in southern states have opted out of such programs. They know that they are elected to serve the people and not the other way around.

I hope and pray that people will get smart and put an end to this corrupt program. I read that many state officials already have plans to ban the program statewide.

While you, or the Alderman or Alderwoman you refer this to, to read may not agree with it. It is something to consider. There are other ways to correct driving behaviors without hefty fines and the courts can be frustrating.
