DSL Internet Service - Complaint

I have had an unending string of problems with Verizon Internet service.initially I had land line phone service with Verizon. I had decided to subscribe for DSL Internet service, that didn't require land line phone service, to replace my dialup Internet service. After a trial period with Verizon DSL, I planned to cancel my land line phone service and my dialup Internet service

Problem #1: When I first subscribed for DSL service, the customer service representative assured me that I didn't need a special modem. But Verizon later switched its position and said I would need a special modem that would cost somewhere in excess of $100. Eventually Verizon resolved this problem by sending me the special modem an no additional cost.

Problem #2: When I called to cancel my land line service the customer service representative assured me that this would be done. When my land line service was not canceled I called again to have it cancelled.

Problem #3: During my second call to cancel my land line phone service, the customer service representative said my initial contract for Verizon DSL service would have to be cancelled and replaced with a new contract. My original contract was for $25 a month with the understanding that I could cancel my service any time. I had a choice for a replacement contract for either for $27-a-month for, one-year contract of a few dollars more for a month-to-month contract. I chose the $27-a-month, one-year contract.

Problem #4: When Verizon cancelled my land line phone service, they also discontinued my DSL Internet service. The first Verizon service technician who attempted to fix the problem did not contract me. When I called Verizon they said the problem was fixed and that I had an internal problem. I eventually figured out that Verizon had attached my DSL service to the wrong unit in our condo complex. A second visit by a service technician fixed this problem. There is no telling how this problem would have been resolved if I hadn't been able to figure out the cause of the problem myself.

Problem #5: When I received my bill, the bill was not being charged to my credit card as I had requested in my original contract. I called Verizon and arranged to have all of my previous and future charges for Verizon DSL service to be debited to my credit card. The Verizon service representative took my credit card information and assured me that this would be done.

Problem #6: I recently received a bill from Verizon indicating that my payments are not being charged to my credit card and that I am late in my payments. This problem is currently unresolved.

Problem #7: The bill I received from Verizon indicated a monthly service charge of $33 a month instead of the $27-a-month charge the customer service representative had promised as mentioned in Problem #2. This problem is currently unresolved.
