I'm an australian in my mid sixties just back from a month in the USA. Before I left I contacted T Mobile Australia before I purchased a sim card for $90. I have a motorola Defy and was told just put the card in stateside and it will work perfect. Arrived in L.A. And it took four days of calls to get it to work. I travelled 2500 miles from West to East along what's left of route 66 and highway 40 and the phone rarely could get coverage. It's the worst service and coverage of any phone company in the USA. I warn anybody from any country outside the US to not try taking their phone to the states and using T Mobile. I ended up buying a Verison phone to keep in touch with my USA friends and it worked perfect. The only way I could keep in touch with my wife back in Aussie was to send e-mails from a computer as my T mobile was bloody useless - Be Warned fellow Aussies.
