I applied for a free trial of slimtone plus and body cleanse plus in which I had to pay only the post and package costs of £2.49 for each. When the goods arrived the information enclosed with the package set alarms bells ringing as it followed I was to be billed £37.50 every month for a new supply but to cancel membership I had to ring within 7 days of purchase and obtain a returns code and return at least 50% of the product within 14 days. This product was supposed to be manufactuared within the UK and was supposed to be endorsed by the Channel 4 website. At no point was it mentioned that you would be signing up to receive the product every month. I rang the company straight away and received 2 codes which had to be written on the front of the returns envelope and the product had to be returned to Southern Ireland (conveniently out of the jurisdiction of the UK) and sent by international registered post as no cancellation would be put in place unless they had confirmation of receiving the product. This cost £9.50 to return and they will have an unopened product that they can re-use to con another person. Whetherthey will cancel my 'membership' remains to be seen. Alternatively they would have cancelled my membership if I had agreed to pay the full £37.50 for their product.
