We spend from 1 to 3 months in Florida in the winter months. I have had Bright House for internet the last couple of years. Last March I paid Bright House to suspend my internet service. For a fee which I seem to recall was around $20, they were to put my service on vacation when we left Florida last March. All I can say is BUYER BEWARE OF PREDATORY BILLING
This week received a bill for $86.88 from Bright House. They had took it upon themselves to restart my billing (not my service - more on that later) I called BH support and to my surprise they maintain the bill stands and that I should have called to extend my hold. (Even the US postal service has the decency to send you a notice that your forward has expired)
They were quick to restart the billing but not the service. More on that. Last Year when I called BH to restart my service, it took several phone calls to get them to give me service. They kept saying they were working on it (after some reps tried to blame my computer for their problem) but it took several contacts to get them to get me up and running. SO can we take from that experience that you MUST CALL SEVERAL times to get service started but they will start billing without some much as a request to do so. Why can I say that?
We had made a quick stop at the Florida trailer about the time BH claims they restarted service. I did not call for service because I was not staying and would not for another 2 months. I did notice that the cable box was dead and there was no connection on the day they claim they restarted service.
Witness, they claim I owe for service starting 11/10. I can say that from 11/9 thru 11/14 the BH cable box was DEAD. So if they restarted on 11/10 as they claim they are guilty of billing for a service which they did not deliver. It appears they could careless about delivering service only billing for it.
I had overlooked that BH charged double what a pay for high speed internet for the other 9 months of the year - but this experience is the end. I will be off to another vendor and all I can say is BUYER BE WARNED.
