Withholding paychecks, altering federal tax information for employees with no consent, lying about employees job history and/or experience, writing bad checks and blaming the employees

This company has a long local history of not paying their employees and of taking worked hours off the paychecks. They also have a long history of writing checks that no bank will cash except for their own and no bank will allow the deposit as DeHaven's has often bounced employee paychecks.

Not only that the owner and office staff are known racists and while they employ many minorities, it is out of the ability to pay their hardest working employees, the laborers, minimum wage, while the people in the office who book jobs are paid every week and hired at higher than minimum wage.

When one employee quit in he did not return to the state until 2011 and upon being rehired at DeHaven's his paychecks were automatically set up by someone else who did not gain his consent to be set at the federal tax withholding of 2 and the state tax witholding of 3. It took the "office staff" more than one pay period to make the legal adjustments, not because of paperwork, they were simply too busy to speak with him about their tax fraud.

This company run by Robert Long has shown uncivilized cruelty and neglect to their duty as an employer. Their business ethics sicken me and there is now evidence they purposefully lie about an ex-employee who seeks gainful employment elsewhere. I know of two employees who have worked for this company and drove their tractor trailers and upon a new job seeking to verify the extent of the drivers' responsibilities, the company has both times falsified their statements for no benefit to themselves as neither driver will have anything to do with them. They seem to operate out of spite, as is all too often in the south.

Unfortunately for them both those drivers are black and their longest driver is white, so along with other incidents of yelling at employees for not speaking English, they have a racist history in the county.
