I suspected something fishy from the get go. Then I took the checkeck to the bank so they can inspect it. They told me it looked fake. I ask them to call the bank it was drawn on to see if the account was real. It was a real account but they couldn't see if the person was real who issued the check. The bank kept the check and said they will be sending it back to the bank. The bank said people do this scam all the time. The check would eventually clear and you can withdrawal funds but eventually the bank would find out it was fake and you would end up owing the bank money. I spoke with the guy who sent me the check and told him it was fraud. He quickly tried to explain. He wanted me to go get the check back from the bank. Then he claim he was going to file suit against the bank for not cashing the check.
