As new comers we were trying to buy our first car in Canada. We've been shown a Murano Nissan and after agreeing with the salesperson in writing that its price is CD 12,000 and monthly payment of about CD 260 with an interest rate of 4.99% and we agreed to pay a deposit of CD 500, and we confirmed with him twice that it is a refundable deposit - and we actually made this transaction. After that the sales person went to his business manager to return to us saying that the interest rate is 13.99%!!! When we complained that this is not what we agreed upon we were taken to discuss it with the business manager who talked us to try to finance the car through our bank. So he started giving us the car details to take it to our bank and after we sign it he left us to return to us asking to sign that our deposit is non-refundable!!! We recognized the trick and we were shocked and protested that this is not what we agreed upon, and obviously they were trapping us and we refuse to sign the non-refundable condition they blackmailed us that despite leaving our deposit they can sell it to any buyer tomorrow morning. Feeling the trap we insisted of refunding our deposit. We thought a certified dealer of a big company will have more straight dealings. As new comers we were taken for a ride
