I was with Extra Space Storage since 2011 before I went to Afghanistan for deployment. At first they were good. When I came back on I was going to move all my items to our new apartment only to find out that almost all my belongings are molded. They said that I need to call the insurance, and which I did, but they are only going to cover $2000 since that is what I signed up for. I was upset about that but I completely understand that. Then I called again and told them that I want them to clean up my unit since it was not my fault that my goods got molded and they said that it is still my responsibility to clean it up. I was mad when I heard that because I felt like it was not my fault that my household goods were molded. Then my wife called them and she was promised that they are going to provide dumpster and they will have somebody to help me clean up my storage. Just an hour ago, I called them and I told them to disenroll me on my autopay and I ask them again about the help that they promised my wife, and they said that no help will be given and that I have to take the big items to the dumpster, meaning, I have to rent a truck just to throw my old couch and bed. I snapped when I heard them say that. I can understand that they only pay me for whatever I signed up for. What I do not understand is why do I have to clean up the mess that I did not do. If that is their policy, then I think they need to reconsider their policy or have this establishment closed!!!
