This charge was for a Yellowpages.com company that called me demanding payment that a non-employee had supposedly made some months earlier, claiming that she had agreed to a contract with this company and that they had sent us bills to that effect. When I asked to hear the recording of the transaction, they gladly played it back and it indicated that she had in fact agreed to the contract. At that time I was told that to stop any further penalties, I could pay by credit card and be done with it. I agreed to to payment. I imediately contacted my sister who was setting in for me that day to find out what happened. She recalled the conversation with the agent which at first didn't even know the name of the company she was contacting and asked her if we would like to use their service. She explained that she had no authority to do so, in which they continued to ask more questions. After discussing this with her, I called the company back and requested that the digital recording be played back so that my sister could hear it. My sister was outraged because the recording had been altered and was not what was said. Half of the conversation had been deleted and transformed into a totally different conversation in which she said YES to the questions that they needed a YES response. This is total fraud and should be investigated by the FBI. Please see what you can do as my CC company will not reverse the charges.
