08/23 I was over $300.00 in credit in my energy account for gas and requested a refund of $200.00
I needed to submit meter readings both online and via telephone. My bill was to be recalculated to make sure I was still entitled to a refund. Which would then be paid into my account on 08/292012.
I waited until 08/31 funds had not been paid into my bank account. I phoned British Gas and was informed that the money had been applied for but would be at least 09/14 before the cheque would be requested and a further 7 days to be forwarded to me. I telephoned British Gas again on 09/20 to make sure the cheque was on its way, only to be told again that the refund had been applied for TWICE ALREADY but still not issued. I was again informed it would take 14 days to apply for a cheque and another 7 days. When I asked for an explanaition, they were unable to give one, but they could see that the refund had been applied for on both 23rd and 31st of August. I am absolutely livid about this as this is my money they are witholding. If it was me that owed THEM money they would have made sure it was in full by now. I think I should charge them interest on the money they have witheld, from the time I requested it to the time I eventualy receive it. Plus compensation for the hassle and frustration caused.
