I would like to start by saying that writing something like this is very out of character for me I have had bad jobs before but I have never experienced anything like this and I feel obligated to warn other people. Also I would like to apologize to any and all of the genuinely good people that work for this company and I feel bad for them because they are victims of this scam too. The main reason I feel obligated to write this report is because I left a job that gave me a steady pay check and flexible hours because of the nonsense I was told and lead to believe I was being given a legitimate and good career opportunity and hope no one else makes the same mistake.
First and foremost the deceit starts from the very fist interview where you leave knowing nothing about the company but leave with the impression that this could be a good opportunity. The second interview which you will get called for because everyone does is a full day of doing door to door sales with a "top rep account" who is really just another door to doors salesman that has become a leader who has probably only been their for a month trying to convince business owners to switch their electric supplier to direct energy which very few of them will do. After the day is over everyone is offered the job but hardly anyone accepts because no one wants to go door to door. If you apply for this job you will get a phone call they call about 1500 people a day. The only reason I accepted this job is because I was lead to believe that I was going to make 300 dollars a week salary plus commission but when filling out my paperwork I found out that this is not true, and that they tell you that you will make 300 because your are supposed to sign up at least 2 accounts a day meaning this job is 100% commission. At this point I had a gut feeling that job was a bad idea but I had already told me previous employer I was leaving and decided to make the most of the situation.
But here is the break down on making 100% commission basically on a good day you make 120 to 200 dollars (which most people rarely do) if your by yourself and if your with another person this is split down the middle meaning you make 60 to 100 dollars (and remember this is a GOOD day) and you also drain about half a tank of gas a day that you pay for yourself so basically you make no money, and there are also days where people actually loose money because they earned zero dollars and wasted a full day. Also the work day starts at 8 AM and ends at about 6 PM.
Everyone who works there is completely brainwashed because the atmosphere is fun and most of the people are cool, and also everyone believes they will own their own company one day and these are the people that I truly feel sorry for. These people are the ones who got promoted from entry level to leaders and this promotion consists of the same amount of pay but with longer hours and more work. Sweet promotion right?
When your at the office everyone has to act extremely upbeat and positive there is always loud music and your leader who is the person who took you on the full second day interview will try very hard to befriend you to make it harder for you to quit. I am definitely not going to talk bad about the person who was my team leader because I have a lot of respect for them as a person and also thought the person was cool to be hones but at the same time that is something that messed with my head wondering if this person actually cares or if its just because they need you to stick around for their own personal gain. This is because the only way they can get promoted is to build a team, which is very difficult because everyone quits (in my very short time there i saw at least 10 people quit out of about 20 employees 2 had been there for a year, 1 for six months, and everyone else under 3 months) Id like to think that the leaders actually care about the people on their team but I guess that is something I will never know, but again I truly feel sorry for these people especially the person who trained me because I had never seen a more hardworking and dedicated individual doing so much work for no gain. Basically I will just close by saying yeah maybe some people can do this job and make a little bit of money but do not be fooled this can only happen if you devote your entire life to this company which will most likely lead to being in debt or living at the poverty line and even then most people never make it. Don't wast your time at any cydocr company.
