I have purchased back in Feb a GE range/oven (their best product) and haven't used it much in the beginning, since I was abroad for a while. Soon after I noticed that the knobs and the panel on the front and top of the unit get extremely heated when baking or using the oven in general. I called the company to complain and they suggested to send a technician, who came in May 7 between 1-5 pm. The technician said that most people buy this unit for its beautiful look, all stainless steel, which carries heat. They have a lot of complaints and have exchanged the knobs but it doesn't resolve the problem. He basically said that the unit works fine as designed. The company agents have sent it to their Engineering department and after many phone calls back and forth they came back with the same answer, that the unit actually works as designed and there is nothing wrong with the unit. I explained to them that working on it is a security hazzard and that I would like to get my money back, so I can purchase a new unit, but they agreed only to exchange the unit for a lesser model with me paying an unspecified amount for the new unit. This is unacceptable to me. I don't want any of their products. I just want my money back. The company has a responsibility to the consumer to let them know that their most expensive model has that problem, but then nobody would purchase it knowing that. This is absolutely pure fraud.

Please help me resolve this problem with GE.
