After several months of dealing with repair visits for the faulty fridge that each ended in no improvement for the fridge I was able to contact the GE Consumer Relations department to see about a replacement unit. It was deemed that the unit qualified for "too much service" and the possibility of a swap-out was discussed. I felt that, after reading numerous reviews of the model after-the-fact, that we had received a lemon, and had no problem exchanging the unit for a new one (as it is still under the 1 year manufacturer warranty) I was informed that no dealer in my "area" was willing to do deliver/install/haul-away or even take dealer credit. I was then informed that a buy-back was the only option left; however, the credit would be for the purchase price of the unit, but at the current retail value of the exact same unit/model this would leave me with roughly $700 that I would have to pay in order to receive the exact same unit as the faulty one. I'm not in this for the money, I just want the fridge I paid for.
