Over one year ago, I purchased a cellular alarm service from ADT that would allow me to not have to keep a phone line service in a second home. I specifically mention to the company that it had to be a dependable service and that my own Verizon cellular phone worked very poorly in the area. The system was installed and I was never advised that there could be problems to receive signal.in April of ADT contacted me saying that they were nto receiving a signal, same thing happened in May. ADT made poor efforts to come at at a time when I was not working. I observed that for installation, they would offer weekends but never for services. For the first appointment, the service employee showed in the morning when the appointment had been scheduled for the afternoon and my son had taken an afternoon off work for nothing. The second appointment I made ended up not put on their calendar. When I called the evening before to make sure someone would show up, and after driving 180 miles, I was told that there was no appointment and that no appointment could be scheduled for another two weeks. I then decided to cancel my services and at that point only was referred to someone willing to help. Too late! When I ask for ajustment in the price of the service since the house was basically not protected for two months and I had put money in a cellular unit now useless, I was told that the only way I would be compensated would be to stay with ADT and let them fix the problem. This, I feel is a very poor business practice and I am sincerely asking your attention to this matter.
