Never buy a trane!!!
Waiting for my window unit, (purchased the same year I moved into my home from Walmart; to cool my garage for a dog I was sitting that summer) to cool off my bedroom.
Trane does not stand behind their manufactured products!
I have been in my brand new home, that I built (not a spec home); and this is the 2nd time my Trane unit has broken! First the Expansion Valve, I was "MenuPriced out of "$ 600. Even after asking the installer, how much it was going to cost me. And I was told not to worry... (little Lady... Lol) you'll get a bill. They stole $600. ; 2 yrs ago. & now my compressor! Seriously!
My builder, Ed Currin did not & will not (after more then 4 requests) provide me with the warranty for my Trane.
However the online info for my unit indicates it has a 10 year warranty. But... Wait for it... That's a different warranty then my same model has today. Which according to Trane is only 5 years and expired 5-30-12... 19 days ago! Trane and the HAVC installer, Young' s Electric, take no responsibility.
I was blessed by the company who is making the repair; Barkley Arnold, & my very dear friends Judy & Joe, and the dealer who is ordering the the part. They have helped me to work thru the baloney.
Bottom Line!!!
Never buy a trane!
