Trane a/c compressor lasting less than a year on a $4,400 unit

Trane Customer Service: Bought a trane unit one year ago. This is the third unit purchased from Trane. Have always been satisfied. One week before years warranty ended. Service company called in as unit was making loud noise. A/C company said it had a faulty starter. Starter replaced at no charge. Next couple of days unit continued to make an even loader noise. Called repair company, they said my problem was now the compressor with out looking at unit. And that it would cost $550 to replace part, and Trane would not honor years warranty, as it expired seven days ago. Robert Orta
