The Trane website claims that, "Tranes warranty programs can offer you years of worry-free protection." However, I've found their warranty to be ANYTHING BUT worry-free.
My unit was LESS THAN FOUR YEARS OLD when I started having problems with it. Thinking that my "worry-free" warranty would cover the problem, I called the Trane Authorized Dealer/Service Specialist who installed the unit only to find out that I would be charged just to them come out to my home to diagnose the problem, even under the warranty. Furthermore, I would have to pay a heafty amount for the labor on the warranty repairs.
When I was sold the unit, the "worry-free" sales pitch certainly wasn't what the "worry-free" warranty turned out to be in reality. As it turns out, if you really want a "worry-free" warranty, you have to buy their EXPENSIVE (~$700) extended warranty that truly does cover parts AND labor. What a RIPOFF! I'll NEVER buy another Trane and I advise you to think twice before buying a Trane!!
