I have a 5 year old Trane unit. I have had it serviced 3 times. Blown fuse, then a few months later the defrost board, most likely the cause of the blown fuse and most recently the expansion valve, apparently a common problem due to shoddy manufacturing. The valve is covered under warranty but I have a $600 bill for the labor, the new drier they added and the freon they had to add. Trane's advertisements should read "it only takes an expansion valve to stop a Trane".
