BUYER BEWARE - Customer service was poor and contradictory. Service was not as advertised and failed me for almost a year with no notification. Filed a complaint.
I was missled that Carbonate could back up externals, but was informed after the fact it was not supported on my Mac, but that perhaps in the future an update would fix it. Pretty irritating, but I held out some hope, nothing after a year. About a year into my service, for some reason (no one was able to tell me why), Carbonite stopped backing up my data and was sitting idle, for months. I received no warning or notice, just happened to check. When I checked my online account, I received errors when I tried to access the old data that was stored. The above issue was resolved by reinstalling the software, but that defeats the purpose of paying for automatic back up, IF IT'S NOT BACKING ANYTHING UP!
Their first solution to my obvious dissatisfaction with your service, "delete the software from your computer." Finally, their customer support thus far was contradictory and sub-par at best (see above).
