Received a phone call saying my computer was infected by a virus and wasd going to crash. When I asked how they new this, tyhey said they were from Microsoft and they follow the computer health. They then took over my computer to fix the problem and quoted me a price of either $299.00 or $399.00
for the service. I agreed to the $399 price and after they got my credit card information, and had control of my computer they changed the amount to be charged to $400.00. I told them I would not pay that if I was billed that amount. When my credit card bill arrived the amount was $499.00 so I called the credit card company and disputed the bill. I then received an e-mail saying if I don't contact them I will be turned over the their "legal department". I have really good credit rating and I don't want them to srew it up. Should I pay them, or fight them?
