I received a call saying they were in contact with Microsoft windows and that my computer hard drive was in danger of failing due to malicious programs. They talked me through a way to see these on the computer and there were 97,000 errors or warnings. They offered to clean up the computer and I paid for a lifeline guarantee for this service on any computer I own. They got control of the computer from their end and spent about 2 hours working on it.
The computer was admittedly faster afterwards, but then I had difficulties getting into my online bank account with the online ID. I checked up Mercaway online and saw all the scam reports. I was not able to change the ID online so called the bank and changed it that way. I feel my computer security is threatened.
