Consumer Report

Two young men knocked on my door this evening (they talked very fast) said they were related to a neighbor around the corner and that they were selling magazine subscriptions for US soldiers. The selling of these magazines would also help them gain points to travel over to England for a college course. Of course they used the college that was dear to us (they must of seen the magnets on the back of my car and the sign in my garden) to get on my good side. Like a fool I purchased 2 magazines to be sent to Keller Army Hospital in West Point, NY. I wrote out a check for $118.00!!! As soon as I did it, I felt sick. I watched them knock on all my other neighbor's doors. When my husband got home and I told him what I did... He got right onto the banks website and stopped payment of the check. I also drove around the neighborhood looking for them and I would of went up to them and say "I gave you the wrong check" get it & rip it up. But I didn't see them anywhere.
I also sent an email & phoned the company that was on the ticket. I am mailing and cancelling the transaction tomorrow. I hope people read this & don't do what I did. I hope it works out for me.
