I took advantage of an offer to try a skin cream for just postage costs. The cream arrived and it was OK, but nothing special. I did not then or when I ordered the cream sign up for any contract. On my credit card statement I was charged the agreed price of £0.97. The following month I was charged a further £79.99. I contacted Tesco, my credit card issuer who appeared to be well aware of this 'scam'. They told me I should have cancelled my contract within 14 days. I feel that if they are aware of this, they could do more and are, too a degree complicit in this. I would advocate that every person scammed should dump their credit card supplier and maybe, just maybe, they would be more helpful. I have now cancelled the 'contract' and written to Tesco asking them to make good my losses. If they don't, can anyone recommend a good credit card company?
