I joined this company because my co-worker told me her friend used it and she had more dates here than she did online and the men were better quality and more marriage minded. I thought that sounded good because online had proven to be a huge time waster and by the time you meet the guys, they are usually players or creepy weirdos.
When I met Kim, the director there, I wasn’t sure what to expect. She told me she had worked there a long time and I would be meeting guys I would like. I was surprised I had to pay for everything up front, I thought there would be a monthly plan. Probably because if people can afford it, they have good jobs and want a relationship. Kim said I should do the dinners first and then match drinks afterwards.
My first dinner was ok, the guys were pretty vanilla I would say. Super nice, but not really my type. My dining matchmaker Mandy told me that she does a better job when I fill out my feedback and am really specific on what I want and who I’m looking to meet. She then set me up on another dinner party the next week, which was cool, because I thought it would take longer to set something else up. The second dinner was better. I met a cute doctor and we went on a second date, which was nice. Not sure if he is my type. I told Mandy this and she had another date for me. She is getting closer I think. This guy was less preppy and more interesting than the last one, so the dates are getting better. I am pretty happy with the experience so far and at least I’m meeting guys with better jobs and have their act together. I guess it’s worth spending the money because you never know if you will meet someone at one of these events who has someone in mind for you and I like having more friends.
Overall, I think this service does a good job. You have to tell them what you want and be flexible, but at least it cuts down on wasted time online and I hate going to the bars and meeting guys. I’m not in my twenties or thirties anymore and this seems to be a good way to meet better single men.
