I was conned into magazine subscriptions. They had info on me that I did not give to them, such as name, address, phone (which was unlisted), and debit card number. They said they got this from a database from Visa since the debit card had a Visa logo on it. I contacted them 2 weeks after to cancel the subscriptions and they told me I could not and that was not an option. This was before I even received the magazines.
I had to stop my card and get a new one because they tried to take money from my account. Now they are harassing me for the money for this and I don't want it. They even threatened me with collection. I contacted the Attorney General's office in California and contacted a lawyer. Nothing has happened yet and I still get an occasional magazine.
I contacted the magazine companies to stop the magazines. The magazine companies said the magazines were paid for and I couldn't stop them.
