You've Heard it before, they called my 82 year old mother and said they were with the Social Security Office and offerered her a Medical Discount package that would include a $500 prepaid visa, if she signed up. I called the "3rd party Customer Service" company to cancel the service and they said it would be 21 days to get a refund. After 21 days I called back and they told me it was work days and to call back on the 12th of January (today). I did call and they said they would contact Interben and launch an investigation to find out why they haven't refunded my Mother her money, and to call back next Thursday 1/17... We listened to the taped conversation and it was in fact my mother, but they asked her if she was between 18 - 75. She's 82, her hearing aids were on order at the time of the call, plus the person she talked to had a foreign accent and she could understand her very well, (her words). We had to open a new checking acct. And leave minimal money in the old acct. Until we can close it.
