I signed a contract with HD at home services to put a roof on my house on 22 Oct 11, the area rep came by for final measurement aorund 12 Nov 11, on 13 Nov, I received a call fro the original sales rep stating that the price was not 8K dollars as stated in the contract, but would be 12K dollars. I told him that I had a legal and binding contract and expected them to honor it. A Mr. Helms called and said tht they could put the roof on for 8K if I signed a new contract with a two year waranty. I told him that the waranty information was on the spec sheet and not the contract (I know spec sheet is part of contract) and I should only have to sign the new spec. Sheet. I wenttothe local home depot here in Valdosta, GA (17 Nov) and the manager said that they he would speak to the people at HD headquarters and find a way to resolve the situation. After about an hour of waiting, Terry, the manager, came out and said that they had cancelled the contract and the money 8K would be credited back to my HD credit card, only 2K was surpossed to be on my credit card. Well, it the 24 Nov, the charge is still on my card, by charging 8K dollars instead of the 2K placed me over my credit limit, caused my credit score to drop 18 points an short of seeking legal recourse, It appears that HD does not honor contract and does not provide good or even adequate customer service.
