Magic Jack
Great Product, Great Savings

MagicJack Review

We have been using MagicJack for almost two years. We have found it to be very reliable, and a huge money-saver. Like with anything, this device has its strengths and weaknesses, but the strengths far outweigh any of the limitations that are built into this product.

The first and biggest strength is the price. For $1.70 (or less) per month, there is no other phone service that can touch it. All calls inside of the United States and Canada arre free, and the time is unlimited.international calling is just as clear as any other network, and the price is amazing. We have friends and family living in Ireland, and we call them all of the time. At two cents a minute, you can burn five-hundred minutes for ten dollars. That is a price that can’t be touched by any other telephone network.

Another great feature is the contact call feature that is on your computer screen. You just double-click on the person’s name, and it connects automatically call, both foreign and domestic numbers. The rate ranges from to two cents per minute, which is far less than its nearest competitor. Magic Jack also has one of the best telephone directory look-ups that I’ve ever used. I have found friends that have moved to new locations, using this feature, where others never found them, or wanted money for the service. And the directory service feature is free. Magic Jack also has free voicemail that is played through your email.
MagicJack is powerful enough to drive multiple pones throughout the house. All you need to do is plug the phone cord from the device, directly to the phone jack in the wall. It’s that easy to connect all the phones in your house. We run four phones off our device.

The drawbacks to using this system are reasonably minor, and you learn to live with them. These are as follows:
1. The computer you have the device hooked up to has to be on all of the time;
2. One of the USB outlets is taken-up;
3. If you have a lot of programs, or information on your computer and the computer is slowed down, sometimes you can’t connect with incoming calls. The phone will ring, but the call does not always go through. But the phone number shows on the computer screen and you call them back.
4. It is better to hook the MagicJack into a desktop computer, rather than a lap-top, and to the least used computer in the house, if you have more than one. That makes receiving calls more reliable.

MagicJack sounds “Too Good to Be True, ” but it does exactly what the advertisement on Television claims it does. The guy on the TV “Hypes” the device up in the ad, but maybe that is because he uses it, and knows how well it works, and how much money can be saved by using it. For a tiny and simple little piece of hardware, the MajicJack does everything it promises and a little bit more. It may not be worth its weight in gold, but it is definitely worth its weight in silver.
